What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift, also called forehead rejuvenation, is a cosmetic procedure to raise the brows.

You might choose this procedure if you have low or sagging brows. This procedure improves the appearance of the forehead and the eyes.

Surgeons can do the procedure lonely or with other methods, such as Eyelid Surgery, Microblading, and Skinpen. A forehead lift corrects the sagging in the skin of the upper lids and forehead.

Two Types of Brow Lifts

  1. Classic lift: The classic lift requires one continuous cut beginning at your ears or hairline level. Your surgeon will work to avoid a visible scar.

  1. For the endoscopic lift: The surgeon will make a few more minor cuts on your scalp. They will insert the small camera to one end and use the other to make the required changes. In the endoscopic lift surgery, they will use small anchors to secure the tissue. Because the cuts are significantly more minor, this procedure is less invasive, and You will have minimal scarring and a shorter recovery time.

Your Brow Lift Consultation

You need a meeting to consult with your surgeon before the procedure. In that meeting, you can ask about the treatment time, cost, and anything related to this surgery. Also, you should tell your goal, health, and medical history.

Your surgeon will scan your entire forehead region, including the upper part of your eyelid and nose. The surgeon will ask you to make a series of expressions to see the best way for surgical cuts. Also, it would be best to ask the surgeon brow lift after and before charges and all payment options. Insurance typically doesn't pay for any cosmetic procedures, and you must be a medical reason for insurance to cover some or all of it.

Side effects

Though the side effects are minimal, possible complications can include:

  • A slight infection.

  • Scars.

  • Pain in the eyebrows during the movement.

  • Loss of sensation around the surgical site.

However, it's important to remember that these complications are infrequent.

What You'll Need at Home After a Brow Lift

Your surgeon will ask you to stock plenty of clean towels for your home care. Also, make sure you may have plenty of ice with plastic freezer bags and pillows.

On the Day of Your Brow Lift

You can have brow lift surgery at your surgeon's office, a hospital, or an outpatient surgery facility. The surgery may take less than 2 hours, and you don't need to stay overnight. But, it would be best if you had someone along who can help you with drive and other activities.

Mostly, the surgeon will use local anesthesia. But if it won't make you feel more comfortable, you can ask your surgeon for general anesthesia that will put you to sleep during the surgery. Once the operation is over, your surgeon will close the incisions with stitches, cleanse the face, and bandage your head. It is essential to follow your surgeon's instructions before and after the surgery on caring for incisions and how frequently you need to change the bandage.
